its a fairly long process but very simple if you follow these steps
press menu
go to settings
then scroll down to configuration
select personal
>add new
>accesspoint
>account name
>the type the following if u are using  
econet type
      econet

if its netone type
      netone

if its telecel type    
      telecel
press ok
then select
access point settings
>bearer setting
>packet data access point
and enter one of these according to you network
if your network provider is econet type
             econet.net

if your network provider is telecel type
             internet

if your network provider is netone type
             internet.netone
then press ok
now press to back twice
go to the prefered access point
and select the preferred apn or access point profile you have typed eg
econet, telecel or netone.
and you are done.
